Sharks hang onto loose forward duo
NEWS: The Sharks have been boosted by the news that two of their loose forwards will be staying in Durban for a few more seasons.
The Durban franchise revealed that Phendulani Buthelezi and James Venter have both signed contract extensions.
Buthelezi’s new deal will see him stay in Durban until 2026.
Venter, meanwhile, has signed for another two seasons until 2025.

Buthelezi, 23, has been with the Sharks since youth level and he is being steadily groomed into a leader at the franchise.
He has captained the team on a number of occasions and last year he represented South Africa ‘A’ during the end-of-year year tour.
Venter, 26, was in the Sharks’ youth structures before going to Johannesburg to represent the Lions for several seasons.
He returned to Durban in 2020 to provide the Durban side with some depth in the loose forward department.
Earlier in the week it was revealed that flyhalf Curwin Bosch also extended his stay until 2026.
