URC clash postponed due to Covid-19 cases
NEWS: Sunday’s United Rugby Championship Round Eight clash between Ospreys and the Dragons has been postponed due to Covid-19 cases.
In a statement, URC organisers said they are looking at alternative dates to reschedule the game.
“The game was due to take place on Sunday, December 26 in Swansea, however, a number of positive Covid-19 cases within the Ospreys squad have been reported by the region,” said a statement.
“The URC Medical Advisory Group has liaised with Ospreys who are working with Public Health Wales and deemed that the fixture cannot go ahead as scheduled.
“The United Rugby Championship will now consider available dates to reschedule the game.
“At this point there is no impact on Ospreys R9 fixture with Scarlets, scheduled for Saturday, January 1, 2022.”
We regret to announce the @URCOfficial fixture against @dragonsrugby at the @SwanscomStadium on Boxing Day has been postponed under guidance from @PublicHealthW
