Video: Bok Dyantyi reveals his new stomping ground
TRANSFER NEWS: Springbok Aphiwe Dyantyi will make his long-awaited return to the rugby scene – sporting a Sharks jersey.
The Springbok wing was suspended from all rugby in December 2019 after failing to prove that he had inadvertently ingested the performance-enhancing substances methandienone, methyltestosterone and LGD-4033.
The 28-year-old is not eligible for selection until the conclusion of his ban on August 12, 2023.
However, the former Lions wing is free to start training before the conclusion of his ban.
In 2022 Dyantyi moved to Durban for business reasons, fueling reports that he will eventually join the Sharks once the suspension has been lifted.
The Bok continued with training and after months of speculation, Sharks finally confirmed that the wing is the latest high-profile Bok to join their roster.
“More than anything, I’m just excited to be back and I trust that everyone around me is as excited as I am,” Dyantyi said on the Sharks Twitter page.
“I only promise to give my best for the jersey.
“I’ve been in Durban for quite some time, I’ve seen what the Sharks mean to the people and I want to contribute to that.”
