Promising duo extends Connacht stay
CONTRACT EXTENSION: Connacht duo Sean Jansen and Shane Jennings have extended their stay with the Irish province.
Jennings who is a graduate of the Connacht pathway system – the Galway native played his club & school rugby with Ballinasloe RFC and Garbally College, before coming through the Connacht Academy and earning a Pro contract in 2022.
He has also earned caps with both the Ireland U20s and Ireland Sevens teams.
Since his pro debut against Dragons in March 2023 he has scored two tries in 19 appearances.

Jansen arrived from the Leicester Tigers in 2023, where he scored 5 tries in 15 appearances for the Premiership side.
The New Zealander has made a similarly powerful impact with Connacht in his 14 caps for the province.
Jennings has signed a one-year deal with the option of an additional year, while Jansen has signed a two-year contract.
Head coach Pete Wilkins says:
“In Shane and Sean we have two players who arrived to us at a young age, but are continuing to excel and grow into really top-class players.
“They never give less than 100% on the field and that work ethic is everything that we stand for at the club, so I’m delighted they’ve chosen to further their development here at Connacht.”
