Armentum forced into late changes

Huis Armentum have been forced into making four late changes to the team they announced last week for tonight’s Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championship meeting with the Steinhoff Cobras in Cape Town (kick-off 4.45pm).

No players that are currently not living in the hostel they are playing for in the Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championship, are allowed to represent their ‘koshuis’.

This means that four Armentum players, that are still part of hostel but not actually living there, had to be withdrawn from the team which has travelled to Cape Town.

Jonker Venter (hooker), Jacques Stenekamp (inside centre), Reinhardt Erwee (flyhalf) and fullback Tiaan Aucamp will all no longer be available for Armentum in the 2009 competition.

The loss of Aucamp is a crucial one as he likes to attack from the back. Against Majuba last week – when Armentum won 61-19 – he had a hand in quite a few of his team’s tries. Kobus Neethling moves from the right-wing to fullback to take up Aucamp’s place, whilst Michael Bosch comes in at No.14.

Erwee’s unavailability is also huge, as he controls the game from No.10 and is a good distributor. This means that Inus Kritzinger will stay at flyhalf where he did a good job against Majuba. Erwee was unavailable for this match due to concussion.

Jannie Myburgh gets promotion to the starting line-up where he replaces Stenekamp at inside centre. Myburgh’s place on the bench, in turn, will be occupied by Janneman Kotzé.

On the bench, Herman van der Watt replaces Venter as the reserve hooker.

Huis Armentum (updated): 15 Kobus Neethling, 14 Michael Bosch, 13 Morkel Hoffmann, 12 Jannie Myburgh, 11 Gareth Lourens, 10 Inus Kritzinger, 9 Enrico Schultz, 8 Johnny Schoeman, 7 Dedrik Pretorius (captain), 6 Niekie Potgieter, 5 Joubert Horn, 4 Michael de Wet, 3 Ian Potgieter, 2 Toffie van Tonder, 1 Cobus Greeff.
Replacements: 16 Herman van der Watt, 17 Chris Mans, 18 Thys-Koch Burden, 19 Mynhardt van der Walt, 20 Pieter van Zyl, 21 Janneman Kotzé, 22 Leon Pretorius.
