Marais boost for Maroela
The inclusion of Wesleigh Marais (pictured) and Stanley Twiname in the Steinhoff Maroela starting line-up will be a big morale-booster in their quest to start the 2010 Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships on a winning note.
Steinhoff Maroela (FNB Tuks) and Steinhoff Patriot (FNB TUT Vikings) clash swords at the Tuks Rugby Stadium today in the opening round (kick-off 5pm) of Koshuis fixtures.
Marais and Twiname are still members of FNB Tuks’ Varsity Cup playing group and, in fact, Marais will later bench for Tuks in their clash against NMMU at 6.30pm.
Twiname will man the flyhalf position, but Marais will not play at scrumhalf – his favoured position. He will, instead, be wearing the No.13 jersey for Maroela.
Either way, however, the experience of Marais and Twiname could prove to be the ‘X-Factor’ Maroela will be looking for.
