Onderstepoort, Boekenhout standing tall
Onderstepoort and Boekenhout are still the two teams to beat in Tuks’ Winter Hostel League, sponsored by Steinhoff International.
In the Top 8 matches played on Tuesday, August 11 and Friday, August 14, ‘OP’ (X) and Boekenhout (Y) kept up their good form to remain log leaders in their respective pools.
OP’s convincing 35-9 win against Kiaat came as no surprise, but Boekenhout surprised with the way they took care of defending champions Maroela (28-19).
The best contested match was that between Olienhout and Mopanie. Mopanie started in tremendous style, building up a substantial lead of 21-0 before Olienhout fought back like demons to win 36-32.
In the other match played, Sonop had to share the spoils with Geelhout (19-19).
The last Top 8 matches take place on Tuesday, August 18.
