Player profile: Brennan Kevin Wright

The high-flying Nadoes have bolstered their squad for the upcoming 2010 Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships with a few mean and fit looking players, but none meaner than Brennan Kevin Wright.

Brennan has been playing rugby from a young age and has even represented WP Under-19 in Sevens, making him an ideal candidate to fit in with the Nadoes running style of rugby.

When interviewed this is what Brennan had to say:

Name: Brennan Kevin Wright.

Nickname: MaVaaba, Brenno’s, Brin, Wrightles, Bobby Skinstad…

Position: Flyha… I mean loose forward.

Teams represented/sporting achievements: Under-16 WP Regional, RBHS First, Under-19 WP Sevens, Seven-a-side Cream Team and the TORNADOES!!!!

Profession/studies: Business Science Finance.

How did you become a Nadoes Ranger? By living a life of sex and danger, and ending most sentences with a variation of Shawn, Sean, Shaw and no, Shawno, Shawnee, Fo Shaaaw… etc

Which Nadoes legend do you most look up to? Ruthy.

Before a rugby game: I’ll be honest with you, I enjoy a pre-match trip to the gents. (It is more relaxing than anything Deepak Chopra could prescribe.) Other than that, I visualise big hits off the kick-off and running great angles off the backs.

Where will you be in ten years’ time? That’s a good question. I’ll be giving back to the Nadoes franchise and Rondebosch Boys’ High, as these two fine institutions have given me a great deal. Garth might need a new extension to his room in Mason House as Jake’s rugby balls and memorabilia fill up his side of the room, Rawbone will definitely be needing a new pitch roller and Thomas Vaughan will be looking for some teachers’ grants as he completes his second year as Headmaster at RBHS.

What do you eat for breakfast? Purple Cobras.

If you could invite any three people to dinner, who would they be? Jesus, Winston Churchill and James Dean.

Current Facebook status: “Overindulgence leads to Virgin Active being crowded for the next month… “

Youth or experience? That’s even more difficult to answer than “which came first, the chicken? or the egg?” Thus, I’m going to have to go with a mixed vaab. Youth and experience mixed, is shawnley the greatest combo.

Favourite quote: “If you want it, go get it. Full-stop.”

Unusual random fact: The Nobel Peace Prize medal depicts three naked men with their hands on each other’s shoulders.

Favourite superhero: Captain Planet.

Relationship status: In a relationship.

Favourite Nadoes moment: It’s tough to choose between on- and off-the-field moments. My favourite on-field moments would definitely be when we won the 2007 and 2009 Internal League Finals. I think my favourite off-field Nadoes moments would be the change-room sessions after we won those finals. Apparently a huge vibe was thrown by all!
