Engelbrecht set for WP chance

Varsity Cup-winning Stellenbosch outside back, JJ Engelbrecht, has been named on the Western Province bench for Saturday’s Currie Cup clash against the Boland Cavaliers in Wellington.

Twenty-year-old Engelbrecht – who can play at centre or on the wing – has been knocking on the door of the WP senior squad for some time now and is set to make a huge impact from the bench this weekend.

Engelbrecht will be joined by fellow 2009 Varsity Cup winner, centre Paul Bosch, amongst the WP replacements, whilst starting centres Morgan Newman and Juan de Jongh have both tasted success in the Varsity Cup with FNB Maties before.
