Maties grab five points

FNB Maties bounced back from their home loss to Hamilton’s last week to claim a bonus point win against a determined SK Walmers side on Saturday.

The 2008 and 2009 FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International champions went down narrowly to ‘Hammies’ last week, but this away win would have done the reigning WP Super League champions the world of good.

But despite the Maties’ victory, Hamilton’s claimed another win at the weekend – edging out UCT at home – and they look to have all but sewn up that vital National Club Championships spot.
