Ikeys fall off The Track

FNB UCT suffered a disappointing 13-26 loss to SK Walmers in their Western Province Super League clash at The Track on Saturday afternoon.

The Ikeys trailed by just 10-13 at half-time, but were eventually outdone by the boot of centre Ignatius Prinsloo who struck two conversions, three penalties and one drop-goal for a personal tally of 16 points.

Tigers centre André Coetzer (pictured) scored the 2008 and 2010 Varsity Cup finalists’ only try, with young winger Paul Cohen contributing the rest of UCT’s points with his trusty right boot. Loose forward Jody Burch was, yet again, a star performer for the visitors.

All in all, however, it was a disappointing defeat for UCT who made a host of errors against their determined hosts – who, of course, are fighting to stave off relegation this season.
