McDonald gets UJ wing spot

FNB UJ and FNB Shimlas have made a few late changes to their starting line-ups for today’s Round Three, Varsity Cup action.

Shimlas, who are in Potchefstroom for their match against the Pukke later today, have made some changes to their bench; the most notable being that of back-up scrumhalf Marlin Ruiters dropping out of their 23-man squad.

In other changes to the Shimlas matchday squad, Sybrand Mostert and Tumelo Moholo have been added to their bench, whilst Johan van Schalkwyk and Beast Ndwandwa have changed jerseys on the bench.

UJ, meanwhile, have opted for Aubrey McDonald in the No.14 shirt, having last week been bracketed with Bernardo Botha on the right-wing.

Botha will warm the bench, whilst David Bulbring will wear the No.5 shirt after Marnus van Huysteen was – erroneously – named in the starting XV and on the bench.

Flanks JP Janse van Rensburg and Justin Wheeler have also swapped jersey numbers for the Men from Johannesburg who, of course, will be hosting the defending champion Maties at 6.30pm.

* In one final, late change from Port Elizabeth, NMMU have replaced Darryl Turner with Ayabonga Lallendle in jersey No.21.

NMMU are hosting UCT in the second Monte Taljaard Trophy match between the two Varsity Cup sides.

** TUT have also made three changes ahead of their Pretoria Derby against Tuks – the first game of Round Three; one in the starting XV (Dewald van Deventer) and two on the bench.
