One change for victorious NMMU

FNB NMMU, winners for the first time ever in the Varsity Cup last week, have kept the changes to a minimum for Monday’s big game against FNB UCT (kick-off 6.45pm).

The only change to the NMMU starting XV this week – from the side that beat FNB TUT 28-18 last Monday – sees Jade Barkhysen come in for Vuyolwethu Mazaka at fullback.

There is also one change on the bench, with utility forward Jannie Dourie replacing Qhamani Mjobo in the No.18 jersey.

Monday’s game against UCT – which will be televised live on SuperSport 1 – will double up as the inaugural Monte Taljaard Trophy match in memory of Monte Taljaard, a Grey PE and UCT old boy who was killed in a car accident last September.

FNB NMMU: 15 Jade Barkhysen, 14 Wade Roos, 13 Daniel Howitz, 12 Devon Melville, 11 Aluzant Munnik, 10 Willem Laubscher, 9 Lusu Booi, 8 Jaco Swanepoel, 7 André Goosen, 6 Morné van der Westhuyzen (captain), 5 Jacques Naude, 4 Luke Beling, 3 Pierre Hammond, 2 Allistair Langson, 1 Tyron Williams.
Replacements: 16 Shaun Slabbert, 17 Frans van der Walt, 18 Jannie Fourie, 19 January Siyabulela, 20 Neil Weitz, 21 Lalendle Ayabonga, 22 Marius Muller.
