Pukke change for Randfontein clash

FNB Pukke have made two injury-enforced changes to their side for Thursday’s Grand Challenge meeting with Randfontein.

Pukke, 2009 Varsity Cup finalists and the reigning National Club champs, recorded a 22-8 win over Vaal Reefs this past weekend – but a few injuries have forced coach Rudy Joubert’s hand ahead of Thursday’s Randfontein clash.

Inside centre John Roodt and hard-working flanker Jaco Lötter drop out with injuries, with Marcel du Toit (flyhalf – pictured) and Dirco Rautenbach (No.7) coming into the starting line-up to replace them.

Cecil Dumont – last week’s starting No.10 – will fill Roodt’s place at No.12, whilst Du Toit takes over from Dumont in the crucial flyhalf position.

No.8 Nelis Nel will once again captain the side in the absence of influential Varsity Cup skipper Willem van der Wal, whilst prolific try-scorer Lola Waqa (wing) will be hoping to force his way back into the starting XV from the bench.

The Pukke team (v Randfontein): 15 Worsie Kotzé, 14 Willem Barnard, 13 Trokkie de Kock, 12 Cecil Dumont, 11 Johannes Seerane, 10 Marcel du Toit, 9 Andries Mahoney, 8 Nelis Nel (captain), 7 Dirco Rautenbach, 6 Savvas Nel, 5 Bones Robbertze, 4 Grant le Roux, 3 Stefan Bezuidenhout, 2 Stoffel Duvenhage, 1 Jaco Koch.
Replacements: 16 Snoepie Coetzee, 17 Deon Koen, 18 JP Potgieter, 19 Thabo Molete, 20 Randall April, 21 Lola Waqa, 22 Schmiggel Viljoen.

Head coach: Rudy Joubert
