Pukke in crushing victory
FNB Pukke recorded a convincing 41-16 win over Roodepoort in Pirates Grand Challenge action at the Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds in Potchefstroom on Saturday.
Flanker Dirco Rautenbach picked up a brace of tries, with further scores from Randall April, Cecil Dumont, Francois Robbertze and speedster Lola Waqa.
Dumont converted four of Pukke’s six tries, whilst he also chipped over a penalty goal for an impressive match haul of 16 points.
Of course, Pukke, under the coaching of Rudy Joubert, lost in the final of the 2009 FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International, with Stellenbosch claiming their second successive title.
