Pukke make it five from five
2009 Varsity Cup finalists, FNB Pukke, claimed another Intervarsity win over FNB Shimlas; winning 20-6 at Olën Park on Saturday.
The home team scored two tries to nil in a fierce encounter played in the cold and wet in Potchefstroom.
The Rautenbachs, Kempie and Dirco, scored Pukke’s tries, whilst dead-eye goalkicker Cecil Dumond converted both scores and also added two penalties for the deserved winners.
Shimlas fullback Reinhard Erwee kicked all his team’s points – two penalties – on a disappointing day for the visitors, who had hoped to end their drought against their fierce rivals.
It was, however, not their day as they lost their fifth Intervarsity fixture in a row.
