Sampson swap for UCT
FNB UCT coach John Dobson has made just one change to his side for their Varsity Cup clash against the University of Johannesburg at Groote Schuur on Monday.
Wing Marcello Sampson comes in for Marvin Christians in the only change from team that beat FNB TUT 39-21 in Round Two of the FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International.
The exciting fullback Therlow Pietersen retains his place at fullback, after limping off with cramp in the TUT clash, while the impressive Tiger Bax will again be on show at outside centre.
While Dobson was pleased to get a win against TUT, he stressed that he was not entirely happy with their performance. He is, however, hoping for an improved performance against the impressive FNB UJ outfit.
“We’re obviously happy to have notched up the win last week, but I don’t think we played particularly well,” Dobson told varsitycup.co.za.
“They’re (FNB UJ) one of the teams to watch this season… no doubt…
“But like I always say, it’s not about who you’re playing against, it’s all about your own performance.”
