Tuks juggernaut powers ahead

FNB Tukkies recorded yet another convincing win in the 2009 Carlton League – beating Silver Valke 27-7 on Friday evening.

Tuks, who are comfortably on top of the log at present, scored five tries (only one of which was converted) to one in an impressive display of attacking rugby.

Goalkicking could be a concern to the double Varsity Cup semifinalists, but if they continue to outscore their opponents so easily – a few unsuccessful kicks at goal should not bother them too much in the greater scheme of things.

Tuks – who beat fellow Varsity Cup team, TUT, 23-9 last week – will be one of the favourites at the 2009 National Club Championships, which – of course – they will be hosting in September.

But head coach Freddie Grobler will not allow his charges to start thinking too far ahead – despite their overall dominance in the Pretoria club league thus far in 2009.
