Tuks make it three in a row

A third consecutive Carlton Cup Final for FNB Tukkies, but alas no clean sweep on the cards like in 2008.

That’s the short of the tall of what happened on Saturday, August 1 when five Tuks teams took part in the Carlton Cup semifinals played at a rain drenched Loftus Versfeld.

Four of them advanced to the finals at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday, August 8 (Tuks I, Fezelas, Tuks Jongspan and Tuks Under-19A), but Tuks-Pumas (Carlton III) were eliminated by Naka Bulle (25-20).

The fourth league’s semifinals were postponed to Monday, August 3. Tuks-Renegades play Naka Bulle at Loftus B (7pm).

Tuks I beat Centurion 26-25, Fezelas were far too strong for Naka Bulle (40-8), Jongspan had the better of Naka Bulle (39-20), whilst Tuks Under-19A came up trumps in the ‘battle of the brothers’. They beat Tuks Under-19B 10-0.

The four Tuks finalists will all play Police.

The full Loftus fixtures are:
