Tuks too hot to handle

FNB Tuks recorded a crushing 94-0 Carlton League win over a hapless Eersterust team; confirming their place at the 2009 National Club Championships, which – of course – they will be hosting in September.

Tuks, semifinalists in the 2008 and 2009 Varsity Cup, scored an incredible 14 tries to nil, with Gerrit Smit (six), Ettienne Breytenbach (four) and Fanie Booysen (two) missing just two conversions between them.

Louis Boshoff weighed in with hat-trick of tries, whilst Hein Pretorius and Kruger van Heerden both grabbed try doubles for the Carlton League leaders (see log below).

Tuks’ scorers:
Tries:
Louis Boshoff 3, Hein Pretorius 2, Kruger van Heerden 2, Fanie Booysen, Gerrit Smit, Pieter Gothan, Wesleigh Marais, Louis van Biljon, Danie Crous, Ettienne Breytenbach
