UCT v WP postponed
Today’s proposed pre-season friendly between FNB UCT’s Varsity Cup squad and Western Province’s Vodacom Cup team has been called off.
The WP Vodacom Cup squad have a few too many injuries at present and pulled out of the game, but there is hope that the match will be postoned until next week.
“It’s a pity – but what can you do?” half-asked Ikey Tigers coach John Dobson.
“My guys were raring to go,” he told varsitycup.co.za, “especially after Saturday’s enjoyable hit-out with the Stormers, but at least they still have Monday’s game against Boland to look forward to.”
According to Dobson, the UCT-WP fixture “could still take place next week some time”, whilst the game against Boland will take place – as planned – at the Green Mile (Groote Schuur) on Monday, January 25 (kick-off 5pm).
