UJ hoping to bounce back

FNB UJ will be looking to bounce back from last week’s Grand Challenge loss to Pirates when they take on the dangerous Impala team on Saturday afternoon.

Outside centre Clinton de Klerk will once again lead this talented Varsity Cup side into action, but UJ will have to make do without their impressive winger, Edrich ‘Trekker’ van Tonder, who is not available this weekend.

André Smith gets a run in the No.10 shirt and his showing in the crucial flyhalf position will be paramount in getting the ball out to outstanding fullback Earl Lewis and his wingers Hennie Oosthuizen and Itumeleng Mogotsi – all of whom are dangerous with ball in hand.

The UJ team: 15 Earl Lewis, 14 Hennie Oosthuizen, 13 Clinton de Klerk (captain), 12 JJ Pienaar, 11 Itumeleng Mogotsi, 10 André Smith, 9 Jaco Snyman, 8 Hennie Killian, 7 Andries Nel, 6 Julian Erasmus, 5 Lehan Koekemoer, 4 Martyn Lombard, 3 Clint van Niekerk, 2 Edgar Marutlulle, 1 Wayne Swart.
Replacements: TBC.

Head coach: Hugo van As
