UJ put Alberton to the sword

FNB UJ romped to a 46-6 Grand Challenge win over Alberton at Milo Park on Saturday.

UJ scored seven tries to nil, with Alberton managing just two first-half penalties on the day.

The score was 25-6 at half-time in UJ’s favour, but Clinton de Klerk’s (pictured, right) side did not take their foot off the gas in the second period.

Flyhalf André Smith scored two tries and slotted four conversions and a drop-goal for a personal points tally of 21.

Right-wing Weagan Pekeur weighed in with two tries, with UJ’s other points coming from tries by captain De Klerk, No.8 Sisa Mafu and hooker Edgar Maruthlulle.
