UJ unchanged for Ikeys battle
The fact that FNB UJ will be fielding an unchanged starting line-up against FNB UCT on Monday, at the UJ Stadium in the FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International, does not guarantee success. Although it does help…
Ryno Luus – who replaced regular No.10 André Smith for the Pukke match – will continue at flyhalf for the Men from Johannesburg, whilst the deadly back three of Earl Lewis (pictured), Bernado Botha and Lola Waka will look to torment the Capetonians come Monday.
UJ will, again, be captained by outside centre Clinton de Klerk in a game that is bound to produce plenty of fireworks against the second-placed UCT outfit.
“It is good for momentum and self-confidence to field an unchanged side,” UJ head coach Hugo van As told varsitycup.co.za.
“But we still have to beat them on the field and for that the same team that took care of Pukke last week will have to make the necessary step up on Monday.”
