Van Coller cleared to play

Shimlas prop Drew van Coller has been cleared to play following a disciplinary hearing on Thursday, and will be available for selection for Shimlas’ upcoming Varsity Cup fixture presented by Steinhoff International against Pukke at Shimla Park.

Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) had filed a report against Van Coller for an alleged infringement in last Monday’s Varsity Cup match at Groote Schuur.

Van Coller attended a disciplinary hearing on Thursday, along with Stellenbosch centre Dabeon Draghoender, who was red-carded for a dangerous tackle against UCT.

“Drew has been cleared to play,” a Shimlas spokesperson told rugby365.com on Thursday.

The outcome of Draghoender’s hearing to follow.
