Young Pukke look strong

The Northwest University, Pukke, have named 10 players from last year’s successful Under-21 team to face their Pretoria rivals, Tukkies, in the opening round of the FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International, at the Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds in Potchefstroom on Monday.

The halfback partnership of flyhalf WD Botha and scrumhalf Theuns Kotzé are joined by fellow juniors Jacques de Kock (centre), wing Andrew van Wyk and fullback Cecil Dumont in the starting backline.

Another five of last year’s U21 stars are on the bench – prop BG Uys, hooker Lourens Botes, flank Jaco Lotter, centre Wensley Scott and wing Lloyd Seleka.
