VIDEO: The off-the-wall reason why Bulls star failed his HIA
World Cup-winning Springbok Canan Moodie was the hat-trick hero as the Bulls eased to a 56-35 win over a willing Benetton in their United Rugby Championship match at Loftus Versfeld, in Pretoria, at the weekend.
Having secured their play-off spot before the start of the match, the Bulls are now chasing a top-two finish.
The nine-try bonus-point win ensured the Bulls finished the penultimate round in second place – behind defending champions Munster.
They play the Sharks in Durban in the final round to possibly get that top-two spot.
However, a first-half incident best depicted the oddities behind the scenes.
No.8 Cameron Hanekom left the field in the 31st minute for a Head Injury Assessment.
He never returned to the field.
Asked in his post-match media debrief, Bulls Director of Rugby Jake White revealed his amusing interaction with the loose forward.

“When I spoke to him afterwards, he said to me: ‘I got a knock against the head’,” the Bulls boss relayed the exchange.
“He said: ‘Jeez, coach, that test is tough when you tired’.
“We will have to get them fatigued and then do the [baseline] concussion test.”
White also revealed that his players will get this week off – except for those who were invited to a Springbok alignment camp.
