Wales warn referee of dirty tactics

Video of first Test handed to Dave Pearson

Wales' management has apparently handed a video of alleged Argentina dirty tricks to the referee for the second Test in Buenos Aires on Saturday, Dave Pearson.

Wales need a win to level a series which they fell behind in after a bruising and ill-tempered encounter in Puerto Madryn last weekend.

Knees, kicks, and punches have all been highlighted in the video, which has been sent to the Argentina bosses as well, but the Puma management has washed its hands of any accusations, citing the Welsh instead as an atmosphere of bad blood builds between the nations.

"We're not trying to influence the referee, we just want to make Mr Pearson aware of what was going on,' said a member of Jenkins' back-up staff to the South Wales Echo.

"We also hope Argentine rugby bosses will study the tape and once they have seen it, read the riot act to their players.

"We just want a good clean game in the second Test and protection for our young players."

Pumas number eight Juan Manuel Leguizamon admitted early on Wednesday that Pumas had been stunned by the physicality of a young Welsh pack who proved they were more than prepared to stand up and fight their corner against a huge Puma pack.

Alun Wyn Jones would not be drawn on the accusations of cheap shots, but could not wait to get stuck in again.

"If they are throwing cheap shots that's a positive for us," he said.

"They will look to crank it up quite a bit considering what's at stake.

"But I am sure we will meet whatever they bring with a nice welcoming committee."
