Teros for Japan
Uruguay’s coach, Esteban Meneses, has announced his squad of 31 Teros for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. There are 12 players who have been to a Rugby World Cup previously.
For the brothers, back Agustín Ormaechea and forward Juan Diego Ormaechea it will be a new experience but in fact they are following in the footsteps of their father, Diego Ormaechea, one of the greatest Uruguayan rugby players of all time, now a vet in Montevideo. Father Diego played for Uruguay at their first appearance at a World Cup in 1999. He was then 40 years of age, still the most capped Uruguayan.
Uruguay are in Pool D along with Wales, Australia, Fiji anbd Georgia. Their first match at the World Cup will be against Fiji on 25 September 2019.
