Hawston win Classic Clash
On Saturday Hawston won their FNB Classic Clash against Swartberg of Caledon 13-10.
In the first half the Hawston team backline launched many attacks and very soon lead by 5-0 when Jason Griffiths
scored the opening try of the game.
Swartberg team played with their forwards but the defence of the Hawston team was too tight to get through.
David Prins (flyhalf) extended his team lead with a successful penalty kick at goal. H
The half-time score was 8 – 0 to Hawston
With the opening minutes of the 2nd half, Swartberg scored a converted try. Score 8 – 7. A few minutes later Swartberg
took the lead when they were successful with a penalty goal. Score 10 – 8. Both teams defence were of high a standard.
In the last ten minutes Hawston played attacking rugby and attacked from all over the field. Jason Griffiths secure the game for his team and school when he scored the winning try in the dying minute if the game.
Final score: 13 – 10 to Hawston.
