Rondebosch Head South

The four “big” schools of the Cape Peninsula, who have been playing rugby with each other for over a century, are sometimes, lightheartedly, said to be playing for the Triple Crown. When Rondebosch go down to Wynberg this Saturday it is a “Triple Crown” match.

Last term, Bishops won all three, Wynberg two, Rondebosch one and SACS none. Rondebosch still have a mathematical chance of being crowned. But to realise that they will have to beat Wynberg on Saturday. Wynberg have a better chance of dethroning Bishops.

Season So Far

Wynberg have been having a good season and are ranked 10th on the Schools Top 20. They have won 10 of their 14 matches. Rondebosch have won eight of their 14. One of their defeats was against Wynberg who beat them 31-19.
