NEWS: Immanuel Feyi-Waboso will miss England’s Six Nations clash with France on Saturday after reporting symptoms of a concussion.

Feyi-Waboso suffered a blow to the head during England’s 23-22 victory over Ireland last week.

The surprise victory at Twickenham revived England’s Six Nations title hopes, with Wales-born Feyi-Waboso playing a key role on his full debut.

The 21-year-old was a likely starter for Steve Borthwick’s team in the climax to the tournament in Lyon after his impressive impact against title rivals Ireland.

However, the Exeter wing began to feel the effects of a possible concussion soon after the match and has now been ruled out.

“Manny felt a bit groggy, so he is unfortunately ruled out of the game, but we don’t take any risks with that sort of stuff,” England attack coach Richard Wigglesworth said on Tuesday.

Feyi-Waboso has won three England caps and played just 18 times for Premiership side Exeter.

Less than 12 months ago, he was playing for Taunton in National League One.

But despite that lack of experience, he was feted as a rising star following his breakthrough performance against Ireland.

“The whole experience was crazy, the ups and downs, hearing ‘Swing Low’ in the stadium,” Feyi-Waboso said before he was officially ruled out of the France clash.

“I think I had goosebumps on the pitch when I heard that. Amazing. Even now it’s a fairytale.

“It was a rollercoaster of emotions. It’s definitely faster, more physical. I feel like mistakes definitely get punished, especially against a team like Ireland.”
