According to the New Zealand Herald, the 32-year-old is expected to head to Japan after the Test season to join the Black Rams.

Perenara has endured a tough time before making his way back into the All Blacks squad ahead of the two-Test series against England.

He had two Achilles surgeries which kept him sidelined for 18 months.

Despite suffering a knee injury in the opening Test against England, Perenara has been included in Scott Robertson’s squad for the upcoming Rugby Championship.

Perenara has represented the Hurricanes 163 times and he was a key figure in the All Blacks’ World Cup success in 2015.
