Scotland lose Visser to injury

Edinburgh wing Tim Visser will miss Scotland’s November Tests after being ruled out for around three to four months with a leg injury.

Visser, Edinburgh's top try-scorer, was injured in Friday's 20-13 Pro12 win over Treviso at Murrayfield, with an x-ray revealing he had fractured his fibula (shin).

A subsequent MRI scan conducted at the SPIRE Murrayfield Hospital on Monday showed further damage to the his ankle ligaments, which will require consultant surgeon John McKinley to operate.

Edinburgh head coach Alan Solomons said: "This is really disappointing news for Tim. We're very sorry he'll miss the Tests.

"He's an asset for Edinburgh and Scotland. We all wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back scoring tries again soon."
