Cheetah Queens reveal their leaders for the new season

NEWS: The Cheetah Queens announced the appointment of Bernice Strydom and Marlene Adams as co-captains for the upcoming Women’s Premier Division competition.

Sikholiwe Mdletshe, who received a Springbok Women call-up, has been named Vice Captain.

Both Strydom and Adams bring extensive leadership experience to their new roles.

Strydom captained the Cheetah Queens last season and led the team to Premier Division Qualification in 2023, while Adams has led the SWD EaGirls, Titans Rugby Academy, and EP Ladies.

“We are privileged to have a talented squad with diverse leadership qualities,” said Cheetahs Queens head coach Aschin Klein.

“Bernice and Marlene have demonstrated exceptional leadership capabilities, and we’re excited to see them form a dynamic partnership as co-captains.”

The appointment of co-captains is part of the team’s succession strategy, aiming to develop future leaders within the squad with these two sharinging their experience with the youngsters who is part of the bigger leadership group.

The Cheetah Queens will kick off their Women’s Premier Division campaign against Western Province in Cape Town on January 25.
