Kanko headed for the door?

Out of favour Sharks No.8 Ryan Kankowski may leave South Africa after playing for the SA Sevens team at the upcoming World Cup.

Kankowski was called up to the Springbok training camp in Durban despite being dropped by Sharks coach John Plumtree earlier in the season, and Springbok coach Heyneke revealed that the speedy loose forward is not certain what his future holds.

"I had an open discussion with Ryan Kankowski. He is going to play for the Sevens.

"He has not played for some time and he is not sure going forward with his career and I want to pick guys that are going to stay in South Africa and we are sure of their long-term plans," said Meyer.

The Sharks No.8 played in Japan last year, so could be headed back there, but it seems that he could also lend his talents to the Blitzbokke squad at the World Cup in Moscow.

Kankowski has played for the Sharks since the beginning of his career in 2006, but would appear to be on the way out after falling out of favour with Plumtree.
