Wallace blow for Ulster

Ulster centre, Paddy Wallace, looks certain to miss the European Cup knockout stage after suffering a knee injury.

Wallace sustained an injury to his left knee in Ulsters' recent PRO12 match against Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun.

Following a scan, it was confirmed that he has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and according to a club statement, the injury will require surgery and a significant period of rehabilitation.

Last year's defeated European Cup finalists will have to do without Wallace, who has made 54 tournament appearances and has scored 101 points, for April's quarterfinal against Saracens at Twickenham.
