Women refs for the Women's World Cup

Plus some men

The IRB have announced the names of 12 women referees to take part in the Women's Rugby World Cup to be played in Edmonton, Canada, from 29 August.

Eight of the women will referee and four others will be touch judges.

They will be joined by four men also named by the IRB's referee selectors.

The women referees all have international experience. The most recent to become a Test referee is Kim Smit of South Africa who refereed a Test between South Africa and the Netherlands in Durban.

Each referee will referee at least one match. Subsequent appointments will depend on that.

Kerstin Ljungdahl is a former international player. She played for Sweden before moving to Germany.

Women referees:  Jenny Bentel (South Africa), Rachel Boyland (Switzerland), Sarah Corrigan (Australia), Clare Daniels (England), Christine Hanizet (France), Nicky Inwood (New Zealand), Joyce Henry (Canada), Kerstin Ljungdahl (Germany)

Women touch judges: Debbie Innes (England), Kristina Mellor (New Zealand), Kim Smit (South Africa), Dana Teagarden (USA),

Male referees: George Ayoub (Australia), Lyndon Bray (New Zealand), Malcolm Changleng (Scotland), Simon McDowell (Ireland)
