Sale Sharks sign another South African

TRANSFER NEWS: Cheeatsh lock JP Du Preez is set to become the latest player to swap South Africa for the Premiership side Sale Sharks.

According to OFM Sport, the 26-year-old will play his last Super Rugby game for the Cheetahs this weekend before leaving the franchise end of this month.

Du Preez’s transfer to Sale is yet to be confirmed however he is set to become the 11th South African on the English club’s books.

“Unfortunately this will be my last game for the Cheetahs,” Du Preez told OFM Sport ahead of Saturday’s match against Griquas.

“It will be a very emotional day indeed. It was an honour to play for the Cheetahs and I am very grateful for the experience that I accumulated during the past few years.

“I will wear the Cheetahs jersey with pride for one last time on Saturday and I appreciate all the support.

“I will miss Bloemfontein dearly, but it’s time for me to expand my skillset and continue to grow my game.”
