Captain's profile: Raegan Oranje

The speedy wing played for Border at the Academy Week last year, but he says that leading the first team at Queen's this year has been the ultimate honour in his rugby career.

"I am truly honoured and very privileged to have been named 2015 rugby captain of our great school.

"Making the 1st XV at Queen’s College is a goal for every Queenian from the first day they set foot in the school, so it has been a privilege and a highlight to play for this team for two years and even more so to lead the team this year," he said.

Queen's went down on home soil to their old rivals Dale earlier in the year, but Oranje is confident that his team can get some revenge on Saturday.

"I believe (and always tell the guys) that you can accomplish anything if you truly believe and put your mind to it. And it all starts by trusting the other 14 guys around you to do and think the same," he said.

Although there have been some hard times this season, Oranje believes that his team is currently on top of their game.

"Our season started off very well but a massive amount of injuries has hindered our progress this year. We have been really unlucky in that regard this year but the team spirit and togetherness has never been stronger and we are playing some of our best rugby now which is pleasing," he said.

However, he is expecting a massive test from a formidable Dale side that will have the home crowd in King William's Town on their side.

"I’m expecting a very tough and physical match with lots of skilful running rugby by both teams.

"It is always a closely contested match between these two school but especially in King Williamstown. The recent history of the last five matches is three plays two in favour of Queen’s.

"We have focused on the basics this week and executing them well because the coaches showed us that not executing those well in the first game cost us in the end. We want to make sure we execute what we do very well and minimise mistakes. If we do that we can achieve the victory we want," he added.
