Paul Roos, Marlow meet in Burger final

Match Preview

Paul Roos Gymnasium and Marlow Agricultural School meet on the Markötter Field in Stellenbosch on Saturday in the final of Die Burger's competition for schools.

The competition is run in the Big Schools, Medium Schools and Small school categories in Die Burger's distribution areas – Western Province, Boland, South Western Districts and Eastern Province.

Paul Roos beat Drostdy to get tot he final. Marlow of Cradock beat Outeniqua at home in the semi-final, a dramatic won which they won and then nearly lost in extra time..

Paul Roos are fresh from their victory over Grey College in Bloemfontein last weekend, and have chosen the same starting team for this match.

Marlow, who have a powerful pack of forwards, followed their victory over Outeniqua with a narrow 6-5 victory over Daniël Pienaar of Uitenhage.

Marlow also have an outstanding fullback in Nielbert Kitching. The clash between him and Paul Roos's outstanding fullback Stephan van der Merwe could be one of the highlights of the match.

Both teams feature strongly on the FNB Top 20. Paul Roos are top where they have been for most of the season and Marlow are 8th.
