Potchefstroom Boys beat Jeppe

17-8 win for College

College won a hard match against Jeppe 17-8 on Saturday. In a match of two halves, College came out fighting and dominated possession, and scored two great tries through T Molefi and captain T Marole, both of which were converted by Calvin van Rensburg to lead 14-3 at half-time.

The second half was a different story Jeppe dominated the possession and were able to keep the ball in their big forwards. Jeppe were camped in the College half and it was only some great defence that kept them out an off the tryline. Jeppe did manage to score in the dying minutes of the game, but with hindsight they may have been better off kicking for poles rather than seeking the try.

The difference between the two teams was Calvin van Rensburg, who had one of his better games, and put the game out of reach for Jeppe with a 50 drop-kick.Calvin is in third year of first team rugby and one hope that the Leopards Craven week selectors don't overlook the best fly-half in the province this year.

On Saturday, College play HTS Potchefstroom in a FNB Classic clash and College's victory should give them confidence going into this Classic Clash.
