Currie Cup Predictions: Round Three

With so much focus on the looming Rugby World Cup, the 2019 Currie Cup is ticking by seemingly unnoticed, especially with the Rugby Championship on the go.  But that doesn’t mean the action is standing still.

In fact, some Springboks are putting in the hard yards in the domestic league.

Lions team to travel to Cape Town to face Western Province on Saturday has been bolstered by the return of a Springbok with lock Marvin Orie included in the side – just one week after playing in the Green and Gold against the Aussies at Ellis Park.

Elsewhere,  Springboks Marnitz Boshoff and Marco van Staden  will turn out for the Blue Bulls against the Pumas while  Dillyn Leyds will feature for Western Province.

It all means that the Currie Cup predictions for Round Three looks pretty interesting with only one of the fixtures an “easy” call.

Much like during the Super Rugby season, we make sure of an algorithm used by the New Zealand statistician to provide these predictions. Use them at your own peril.
