Agulla extends Newcastle stay

The 27-year-old former Argentina international arrived at Kingston Park in late October last year, making two starts and a further six bench appearances during their Premiership campaign.

Agulla, who has scored seven tries in his 11 caps for Los Pumas, played a further three times for the club in the Challenge Cup, the former Agen man able to play at centre, wing and fullback.

Delighted to have signed on for more in the North East, Agulla said: “I am very happy to be staying in Newcastle with the Falcons.

“This squad is very united and I have been made to feel very welcome since I got here.

"I share the ambitions of everyone here in wanting to get better for next season and I think we will definitely do that.”

Newcastle Falcons’ Director of Rugby Dean Richards said: “We are delighted to have secured Belisario on a new contract.

"He is a quality player who came to us during the season and brings a lot to the squad.”

Agulla is the latest in a line of players renewing terms with the Falcons, including the season’s top try-scorer Nili Latu, prop Rob Vickers, lock Will Witty, scrumhalf Sonatane Takulua and flyhalf Craig Willis.
