Plane delay compounds Blues' woes

Tana Umaga's side were set to travel to Johannesburg via Sydney on Sunday, but they were grounded for 24 hours in Auckland due to engineering issues with their plane.

The Blues eventually started their journey on Monday, but their training schedule had to be amended ahead of their clash against the Lions in Johannesburg n Saturday.

Their second match on tour will be against the Stormers at Newlands in Cape Town a week later.

Meanwhile, the Blues will be without captain Augustine Pulu for their two-match tour.

Pulu suffered a foot injury in his side's 21-27 loss to the Chiefs in Auckland on Friday.

The Blues also lost their opening game of the season 34-41 to the Highlanders in Dunedin in Round Two.
