Super Rugby Predictions: Winning margins and fixtures – Round Nine
Super Rugby has reached the halfway point of the round robin stages. In cricket, we’d call this the boring middle overs. While there have been some big upsets, for the most part, the log is looking exactly as many might have expected.
But that doesn’t mean predictions for the weekend’s Super Rugby fixtures are easy. Au contraire – it’s exactly the opposite.
With teams desperately trying to manage their players’ workload – not just with the rest of the season in mind, but with one eye on the World Cup later in the year – don’t be too surprised if the weekend dishes up another surprise or five.
As we have done every week of this year’s Super Rugby competition, we’re here to help – sort of.
Using a combination of the Rugby Pass Index and statistical algorithms, we provide straight-forward Super Rugby predictions for the weekend.
Data, of course, can only be of so much use. So don’t blame us when your prediction standings take a dip.
This weekend’s predictions are mostly obvious. However, somewhat surprisingly, one of the statistical predictions for the Rebels vs Stormers match suggests that the scoreline will be quite tight. The only other surprise is that the Brumbies are being tipped to beat the Lions, but only just. Use at your own risk.
