The 31-year-old has signed a three-year contract extension with his French club Stade Rochelais.

Leyds, who has 10 Test caps to his name, joined the club from the Stormers in 2020 and he has enjoyed a lot of success in France.

He helped Stade Rochelais win back-to-back Champions Cup titles (2021/22 and 2002/23) and he has made a total of 78 appearances for the club.

“I am very pleased to continue my adventure in this extraordinary club,” said Leyds in a statement on the club’s website. “A club that became my family, away from home, and a city that made me feel like one of its own.

“Thank you to the supporters for always supporting me, for always supporting us. It is always special for me to play in Deflandre in front of our passionate supporters.

“You have already given me incredible memories and I hope that together we can continue to create more.
