'Five-star' Leinster left red-faced
The United Rugby Championship side Leinster have been left red-faced after a major blunder was spotted on their new jersey for the 2023/24 season.
Imaged of the new jersey has caused a major stir on social media after it was spotted that the jersey features five stars instead of four.
The stars are supposed to represent the club’s Champions Cup titles and with Leinster only lifting the trophy four times (2009, 2011, 2012 and 2018) in its history it was clearly a big facepalm moment.
The mistake has been ridiculed by fans online.
It’s nice that Leinster were awarded a Sympathy Star, because it really was unkind when those horrible meanies from La Rochelle beat them in back to back finals. It was a moral victory for the boys in blue, and it’s great to see that reflected on the jersey pic.twitter.com/bWJW4PmvHQ

Last season, Leinster were determined to earn a fifth star on their jersey, and it was looking likely after a blistering start against La Rochelle in the Champions Cup final last May.
However, they lost the game in heartbreaking fashion.
